A week of river-walking in an area full of delights, not least of which is the evidence of prehistoric civilisation that is to be seen all around. Those prehistoric people knew what they were doing, settling in this area, with its rich forests, abundant rivers and mild climate. Nowadays there are also mediaeval villages, fortified churches and extra attractions of the gastronomic kind.
