Clamecy to Cosne-sur-Loire

After Clamecy, we continued along the Yonne and the Canal du Nivernais as far as Tanny. Finding the camping ground there non-existent, we pressed on that afternoon to Varzy, a rash move that luckily coincided with a cool change in the weather.

Walking from Varzy to Donzy, we were mostly in thick forest, and the final day was through open meadows with only occasional wooded patches. We ended at Cosne-sur-Loire, where the river Nohain joins the great lazy serpent of the Loire.
