This short section was distinguished by repeated crossings from one river to another, all of them tributaries of the Loire. We started on the Cher, followed it down to its confluence with the Loire near Villandry, then crossed the plateau to the valley of the Indre at Azay-le-Rideau. Finally we went through an enormous forest and came out at Chinon, on the river Vienne.
