Our walk continued beside the Loire, passing the famous old pilgrimage abbey at St-Benoit-sur-Loire and entering into the country of Joan of Arc at Jargeau. We slipped through the metropolis of Orléans without trouble by staying close to the river and found ourselves camping alone in the closed camping ground of St-Ay.
