Be cautious on Sundays

Sunday night is a low point in the French dining calendar. Many establishments serve a large meal at lunch time, then close until the following day, or even Tuesday. If you arrive at a village that has both accommodation and a functioning restaurant, however humble, stay there and be grateful.
