Money well spent - a Chablis in Chablis
Not surprisingly, walking is a rather cheap way to get around. The average daily cost for the two of us is around €60, made up of the following approximate amounts:
Dinner €25 to €30
Camping €8 to €12
Coffee €10
Other expenses €5 to €10
In other words, we eat our way around France!
Occasional hotel expenses and the initial and final transport, averaged over the whole trip, add only a few euros to the daily cost. There really is nothing else to spend money on, unless you want to increase your burden.
In 2010, a very wet year, our accommodation was considerably more expensive. Out of 30 nights, we camped for only 14, stayed in hotels for 9 and in gîtes for 7. The resulting cost of accommodation was €25 per night on the average.
