From the riverside village of Avèze, we climbed to the plateau, crossed it via Montardier and Blandas, and dropped into the extraordinary Cirque of Navacelles on the old cobbled road.
Then we followed the gorge of the river Vis downstream, regaining the level of the plateau at Saint-Maurice-Navacelles and continuing to la Vacquerie-et-Saint-Martin-de-Castries. The track then rose steeply to a ridge, which we followed on a gradual descent to Fozières and Lodève.
