We continued down the Tarn through Albi to Gaillac, and then diverged to visit some pretty villages in the hills. This section was distinguished by the long distances we travelled each day, not from choice but because of the spacing of the towns. It also coincided with a short spell of hot weather in the midst of this unnaturally cool summer.
