The last two days of our 2010 walk were a lesson in contrasts. The first day, although it started well enough, deteriorated as it went along and, if it had not been for the hotel at Castéra-Verduzan, it would have qualified as one of our worst. We had difficulties with shoes, coffee bars and the weather, and ended with a ten-kilometre forced march on a highway in the rain.
The second day was easy, picturesque and blessed with more sunshine than we had seen for weeks. Everything worked out pleasantly. It was good to end our expedition in Auch, a town that we were familiar with from a previous walk, and have time for a day of repose there before going back to Paris.
