After two days of rest in Montcuq, we continued our northward perambulation, reaching the Lot at Luzech and following it downstream as far as Puy-l’Évêque. From there we wove our way through a series of beautiful thirteenth-century bastide towns – Villefranche-du-Périgord, Montpazier, Beaumont-du-Périgord, and finally Lalinde, on the Dordogne river.
