Coffee shops are a great source of delight for us.
We usually buy croissants or pains aux raisins at the baker and bring them to the bar to eat with our coffee.

If we are sitting outside, we take off our shoes and socks and let our bare feet bask in the sun. There is always a toilet, and often a local newspaper.
Much of the life of the village takes place in the bar, or in the street outside, so there is plenty to look at, and when you are leaving, the patron will happily fill up your water bottles.
