The last part of the low road through the High Languedoc took us further along the disused railway line, past Saint-Amans-Soult, until we could follow it no longer, due to the encroaching vegetation. Then it became a road walk into Mazamet and onwards, skirting the northern edge of the mountains. We passed Labruguière and Dourgne on our way to Revel, a classic bastide town.
